Montezuma Monuments are among the most fascinating Beaver Creek area attractions nearest to the hotel. Montezuma Well is a natural limestone sinkhole fed by an underground spring with approximately 1.5 million gallons of water daily. Sinagua cliff dwellings line the rim of the Well, and the remains of several pithouses can be found near it. There is limited shade around the Well site, so it is best to visit in the early morning hours to make the most of your outdoor fun exploration.
Petroglyph and Archaeology sites can be found throughout the Verde Valley, but Beaver Creek area attractions are some of the best ruin sites in Arizona. The Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site, (formerly the V-Bar-V Heritage Site), Montezuma Castle, and Montezuma Well National Monuments are among some of the most interesting and well-preserved Sinagua cliff dwellings and ruin sites in Northern Arizona, right here in our backyard, minutes away from the hotel! The Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site is the largest known petroglyph site in the Verde Valley, consisting of 1,032 petroglyphs on 13 panels created by the Sinaqua people.
Montezuma Castle is one of the best-preserved Sinagua cliff dwellings in North America. Occupied by the prehistoric Sinaqua Indians between approximately 1100 and 1425 AD. Although just a couple of miles away as the crow flies from the hotel, this National Monument is accessed via Camp Verde's most northern exit off I-17. These Beaver Creek area attractions offer great opportunities for outdoor fun while learning about the area's ancient civilizations.
Among some of the community's lesser-known Beaver Creek area attractions, Sycamore Park is just half a mile away from the hotel. It provides the best public access to Wet Beaver Creek in the Verde Valley. Visitors can use the covered pavilions and fire pits for outdoor fun cookouts and picnics with family and friends in the park.
Beaver Creek Inn is less than half a mile from Wet Beaver Creek at Sycamore Park. The creek at this point is good for creek walking, quiet meditation or just taking a quick splash to cool off in warm summer months. A short walk from the hotel, this Wet Beaver Creek public access point delivers opportunities for peaceful relaxation and uncongested outdoor fun.
Wildlife is among our most valued Beaver Creek area attractions. Take a brief walk from the hotel to Lake Montezuma and catch a beautiful Arizona sunset while feeding the many birds, ducks, geese, and swans that call the lake home. Often, herds of deer can be seen strolling to the lake to get a cool drink without fear of human intervention.
Lions and tigers and bears - Oh Yes - and much more. Just about 10 minutes from the hotel, a wildlife adventure park and zoo for all ages await you. The park offers some of the best educational experiences, mixed with family excitement and entertainment in the Verde Valley. Among Out of Africa Wildlife Park area attractions are its adventurous Zip Line runs, Tiger Splash shows, and African Safari park tours. The park is open daily, rain or shine for guaranteed outdoor fun.
Some of the best horseback riding, boarding, and equestrian centers can be found just minutes away from the hotel. For great outdoor fun and riding adventures, we are happy to guide you to the many equestrian area attractions offered in the Verde Valley. Among them are the M Diamond Ranch and AAA in Rimrock, and several facilities located in Camp Verde, Cornville, and Village of Oak Creek, all within 10 miles of the hotel.
The Sedona Wolf Sanctuary, formally the Medicine Wheel Lodge Wolf Sanctuary, has raised and rescued several types of wolves over the years. As one of Beaver Creek's area attractions, the Sanctuary offers lessons on wolf behavior and the history of each wolf in addition to their "medicine" and healing energy. Visitors are allowed to go into their habitat and interact with them. Visits by appointment only. The Sanctuary is 3 miles from the hotel and 1/2 mile from the Luna Vista Ranch private Verde Valley VIP western event venue.
There are dozens of trails in and around Rimrock. The Beaver Creek Inn provides up-to-date hiking and ATV trail maps and information for your planning and safety. While Sedona hiking trails are among the valley's most favored area attractions, many less populated trails exist to maximize your outdoor fun and sense of adventure. The Wickiup Mesa Trail is the closest to the hotel, offering spectacular views of the Verde Valley. Popular trails in the Beaver Creek area include the Bell Trail, Apache Maid Trail, and Walker Basin Trail, with their trailheads nearby.
The "Crack" at Wet Beaver Creek in the Wet Beaver Creek Wilderness Area is just under 13 miles from the hotel. For great outdoor fun, check out the Coconino National Forest Beaver Creek Picnic and Day Use area. Both have excellent swimming hole spots without the crowds of nearby Sedona. Both are refreshing area attractions during the hotter summer months in the Verde Valley.

The Verde Valley is host to several wineries and vineyards, becoming one of Sedona Verde Valley's fastest-growing area attractions. The ones closest to the hotel are in our neighboring Cornville/Page Springs and Camp Verde communities. Visit Alcantara, Salt Mine Wine, and Clear Creek Winery in Camp Verde. The Page Springs area features Page Springs Cellars, Oak Creek Vineyards, Javelina Leap, and DA Ranch.
If wine is not your thing, the Verde Valley now offers several breweries (most with restaurants) within a 30-minute drive from the hotel. The Verde Brewing Company, located in Camp Verde, is a Farm-To-Mug Brewery that creates and crafts beers with local ingredients grown in the Verde Valley. The 20-year-old Oak Creek Brewing Company, located in Sedona's Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, and Cottonwood's THAT Brewery and the Belfry Brewery are newer area attractions serving food and beer.
Local performers can be found playing at events, pubs, and restaurants throughout the Verde Valley, including those located in Rimrock, Conville, Page Springs, and Camp Verde. Sedona also offers an array of lounge venues featuring live entertainment.
